FTHi. My name is Aeryk. Mostly I write and watch movies. Mostly.

I scribble my thoughts in unlined moleskine journals. These journals, when new, have a green band around them. That’s where the site icon comes from.

Just about every week I go to movies—mostly at the Alamo Drafthouse. Mostly. If not there, I’m watching Netflix or DVDs. Sometimes even VHS cassettes. Crazy, right?

Picture Show Journal

Bringing it all together: Picture Show Journal is the interwebs manifestation of my real world scribblings.

I share this journal in the hopes of connecting with other cinephiles. Also, my wife told me to either start a blog or we were getting a divorce. I have geeked out about films in her presence too many times.

I sincerely hope you enjoy the site.

NOTE: That’s not actually a picture of me, though it is a damned good likeness—moving pictures on the brain, slack-jawed stare, esoteric t-shirt, spotty forearms, scribbling notes with a crayon.

Yep. That’s me.

Additional: The avatar art is by an artist Nano out of Houston, TX (sorry, no link). The site icon (the green moleskine notebook) is used by permission of the very talented Anne Eister. The icons used in The Good, The Bad & The [fill in the blank] articles are Pardon My Icons from Zeldman.com.
